Tutoring Hours

Fall 2026 Tutoring

Tutoring sessions take place in the Excel Languages Center (Dwire Hall 270) unless otherwise noted. Tutoring is available on a drop-in basis during posted hours, and no appointment is needed.

  • Tutoring begins the first week of classes each semester and continues through the last week of classes. Limited tutoring may be available during finals week, and access is reduced during summer sessions.
  • Our tutoring model is collaborative. Tutors rotate throughout the space, checking in with students and providing support as needed. While tutors may be able to work one-on-one at times, students can expect a shared, interactive environment.
  • Tutoring hours vary by language and may differ from the Center's general hours of operation. Please see the schedules below for current availability.
  • If you are looking for more individualized support, limited one-on-one tutoring may be available on a case-by-case basis depending on tutor availability and Center capacity. If you have specific scheduling needs, such as alternative days or times, or would like to request online tutoring, please email the Languages Center at langsctr@uccs.edu.

Tutoring and time that works for me

Tutoring at the Excel Languages Center is free and available on a drop-in basis during posted hours. No appointment is needed.

  • Our tutoring model is collaborative. Tutors rotate throughout the space, checking in with students and providing support as needed. You may receive one-on-one help at times, but most sessions take place in a shared, interactive environment.

  • Tutors can help with grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, listening, writing, and study strategies. Conversation Tables are also available to support speaking practice in a relaxed group setting.

  • By working with a tutor, students can build confidence, strengthen language skills, and develop effective study strategies in a supportive, community-centered environment.

The center is a welcoming space to study, ask questions, and connect with other language learners.

If your personal schedule prevents you from attending one of our open sessions, you may contact us to inquire about setting up a one-on-one tutoring session. This is addressed on a case-by-case basis due to Tutor and administrative availability. Whenever possible, these sessions will also take place in the LC but we will continue to utilize Microsoft Teams in certain circumstances.

Please never hesitate to communicate your individual Excel Languages Center needs to us. If you need support outside of the posted days/hours, please email LANGSCTR@uccs.edu with a detailed request with your availability and the Excel Languages Center Director—Dr. Jesse Perez --will work with you to support your needs to the best of our ability.
